We need more open-minded investigations – and you can help it happen. Let’s go.

Make a difference and support our investigation of potential technosignatures right here on earth – transparent to everyone

PROJECT GOAL

The Alien Technosignatures Research Group (ATRG) intends to assess several lines of evidence potentially suggestive of extraterrestrial paleo-contact. Based initially on anthropological sources our multidisciplinary team of scientific researchers will refocus the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) towards specific anomalies identified within the terrestrial environment.

We are applying scientific methodologies to the evaluation of a specific subset of the anecdotal accounts and cultural mythologies associated with contact between our species and non-human technological intelligence. The ATRG researchers are committed to conducting research that is both scientifically valid and transparent.

It is our intention to focus primarily on two research fields, geology and genomics. This project evaluates the hypothesis that an extraterrestrial intelligence visited Earth close to 800,000 years ago. From a palaeoanthropological perspective, this is an especially interesting time during which the ancestors of Homo sapiens began to diverge from super-archaic hominins.

While our potential avenues of exploration retain a degree of flexibility, we begin with three primary goals that form the bedrock of the project.

  1. Geological SETI – an investigation of the hypothesis that the highly anomalous Australasian tektite strewnfield (dated to ~788kya) represents remnant materials from an exploded extraterrestrial megastructure. Vast silica network AI probes acting as alien sentinels have long been hypothesised, in the Australasian tektite literature we find tantalising indications for an association with such technologies.
  2. Genomic SETI – an exploration of the possibility that an extraterrestrial intelligence left a deliberate signature in the human genome, a so-called genetic ‘WOW’ signal. Our focus is on the period in which occurred the divergence of all large-brained human lineages from their archaic ancestors (~750-800kya). Extremely anomalous accelerated evolution and segment deletions have been observed in highly conserved non-coding DNA regions, as well as unexpected genetic changes, all offer excellent targets for investigation.
  3. SETI-Post Detection – recognising the profound implications of a positive result in our primary research, we will additionally explore the potential impact on human systems, political governance, religious beliefs, philosophical thought and social behaviours. Included in this conversation will be a consideration of the potential for paleo-contact to have implications upon Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP). Presently the US government has tasked two organisations with exploring UAP, the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

The ATRG research team feel certain that through our investigation of possible paleo-contact with we will make interesting discoveries, encourage new public engagement with STEM research and inform improved methodologies for future SETI research. These achievements will stand whether or not a positive detection is confirmed.
